PE-HD Pe / Pe-Hd / PeHd – polyethylene
PEHD 300, 500 and 1000 – The numbers indicate the molecular chains’ length and mean that the higher the number the higher durability. PE, which is known for a good chemical resistance, has a very resistant surface, which make the material easy to clean but difficult to bond. Joining is done mechanically or by welding. The material has good impact strength even at low temperatures, while the strength and rigidity is relatively small.
PE-HD is available as extruded semi-finished plates and rods. PE-HD 500 and 1000 are also available as pressed sheets. The most common colors are natural (white) and black. But PE is produced in many colors, the beige (HD 500) and green (HD 1000) also are in stock at OTV. HDPE sheets can be supplied as regrind to obtain a favorable price. Moreover, PE-HD 1000 is available as antistatic and with various additives to give better sliding properties, higher temperature resistance, higher mechanical strength and better resistance to chemicals and bacteria. PE-HD 1000 is also produced as chain guides and wear strips in many varieties.

PEHD is used, within the food and chemical industries to cut sheets, room partitioning in cabinets, molds for food, vessels, containers and the like.

PE-HD 500 and 1000 are often used for chain guides, wear strips, gears and wear plates in silos, where the desire is low friction.
